April..but no showers

Erica's good friend, Julie, visited us for a few days earlier this week. For a change of scene (but not of pace), we took a half hour drive to one of our favourite seaside spots - Marseillan.




Its easy to think of this region as rural and rugged. And it is, but this little piece of coastline is true South of France chic...


As is often the case we found ourselves amid another local fete, with extravagent floats and marching bands.


We enjoyed a very leisurely lunch of delicious seasonal produce. We started with aperitif from Noilly Prat, the distillary located just across the quayside.The wine flowed to complement the freshest oysters you can get , travelling just a stones throw away to arrive on my plate.




A genuine, five star, guilty pleasure.
